The Prince Experience at Prince Bandroom, Melbourne

Australia’s love affair with Prince Rogers Nelson is long standing musically and in the live spectrum, dates back to his first ever shows down under in 1992. We were also one of the only countries to experience his solo ‘’Piano and a Microphone’’ tour. His legacy continues to be celebrated the world over, particularly on the anniversary of his untimely death.

Delta Bravo, Old Skool Luv & Believe Entertainment are delighted to present the Second annual celebration of the life, music and artistry of Prince, The Prince Experience. Following a very well attended and loved premier event in Melbourne in 2017, the Prince Experience aims to bring together Prince fans of all eras under the guise of a multi-faceted event, billed as part concert, part tribute and an underlying theme of non-stop party, much in the spirit of Prince’s live shows and infamous after show parties.

Performing live is one of Australia’s pre-eminent singer, songwriters and performers, Andrew De Silva (CDB, Boom Crash Opera, winner of Australia’s Got Talent) with his Purple Revolution project, a live tribute project to Prince which De Silva put together prior to Prince’s death and has since become much in demand due to the authenticity and honesty in their performance of Prince’s music.

Don’t be fooled, De Silva and Purple Revolution are not imitating Prince and (his former band) The Revolution but are paying tribute to a career of hits (both his and affiliated artists) that spans almost four decades. Also featuring some of Australia’s premier touring musicians, Johnny Salerno (drums, Sting, Jon Stevens), Paul Cecchinelli (keys, Kate Ceberano), Rod Bustos (bass, Kate Ceberano), Simon Hosford (guitar, Men at Work, Jon Stevens) and vocalist Juanita who brings the ever present female touch to Prince’s catalogue, this band has left even the most one eyed of Prince fans speechless and in awe.

It would not be a Prince experience without a true party to follow and it promises to be just that with a carefully curated DJ line up of Prince aficionado’s (Philvester, Puppet & Mz Rizk) who promise the hits, the deep cuts and a true after party vibe filled with Minneapolis funk together with the sounds of the ‘80s and ‘90s.
