The southern states of the United States have had a strong hold on hip hop culture for the past two decades. Ever since Outkast and Goodie Mob hit the airwaves and paved way for a stream of artists out of Atlanta, New Orleans, Miami, Houston and Memphis.

Southern hip hop, also known as the Dirty South, has become one of the strongest subgenre’s of hip hop with many of today’s rap superstars emerging from the region.

Delta Bravo and Prominent Entertainment are thrilled to announce the first ever ‘’Legends of the Dirty South’’ tour of Australia featuring, for the first time in Australia, Trina (Miami), Bubba Sparxxx (La Grange, Georgia) and returning for the first ever concert tour of Australia, Ying Yang Twins (Atlanta).

Described by XXL Magazine as ‘’the most consistent female rapper of all time’’, Trina came to prominence in 1998, featuring on Trick Daddy’s, ‘’Naan Nigga’’. The much celebrated rapper has also received accolades listing her in Billboard’s list of the “31 Female Rappers Who Changed Hip- Hop”.

Trina boasts a catalogue of numerous features, a dozen mix-tapes and five studio albums since 2000 (‘’Da Baddest Bitch’’, ‘’Diamond Princess’’, ‘’Glamorest Life’’, ‘’Still Da Baddest’’, ‘’Amazin’’’).

Dallas News, in a recent live review, described Trina as a rapper with ‘’razor sharp lyricism and wordplay, her greatest attribute is her unabashed raunch, she pushes rap’s boundaries of race, gender and sexual orientation.’’

With that in mind, Australian fans are in for a treat as one of the true Queens of hip hop graces our shores for the first time ever.

The Ying Yang Twins, consisting or rappers Kaine and D- Roc, came to mainstream prominence in 2003 when they featured on Lil Jon’s club anthem ‘’Get Low’’.

The Ying Yang Twins first toured Australia in 2013 on a promotional club tour and now bring their party anthems to Australia in their for their first ever concert tour down under.

Bubba Sparxxx, best known for his hits, ‘’Deliverance’’, ‘’Ugly’’ and the club anthem, ‘’Ms. New Booty’’, released his first three albums (‘’Dark Days, Bright Nights’’,‘’Deliverance’’, ‘’The Charm’’) between 2001 and 2006, all of which charted in the top 10 in the USA.

After a brief hiatus, he returned with releases in 2013 and 2014 (‘’Pain Management’’, ‘’Made on McCosh Mill Road’’) before inking a deal with hip hop superstar Yelawolf on his Slumerican imprint to release the ‘’Bubba Mathis EP’’.
