In conversation with French actor: Laurent Lafitte

March 8, 2018 @ 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Laurent Lafitte has become, in just a few years, one of the leading actors in French cinema today. At ease in a diversity of roles, Lafitte doesn’t shy away from even the most wicked characters, transitioning from drama to comedy with astonishing ease (Elle, by Paul Verhoeven, 2016; Papa ou Maman, AFFFF 2016). Trained in Paris at the National Academy of Dramatic Arts, as well as in London at the Guildford School of Acting, Lafitte is also a member of the most prestigious theatre company in France: La Comédie Française.

Laurent Lafitte stars in “See You Up There”, for which he has been nominated as Best Supporting Actor at the 2018 César awards, and one of the highlights of this year’s annual Alliance Française French Film Festival.

Join us for a conversation with Laurent Lafitte lead by Melbourne University French lecturers: Dr Andrew McGregor, Dr Bertrand Bourgeois and Pr Véronique Duché, to discuss what is it to be a French actor in both theatre and cinema.

When: Thursday 8th March, 5pm-6pm
Where: University of Melbourne, Arts West – Professors Walk, Level 3 Room 353
