Symphony of Trees by Elina Reddy

March 2, 2018 @ 10:00 AM - March 4, 2018 @ 6:00 PM

FINAL DAYS! Elina Reddy’s ‘Symphony of Trees’ exhibition must close at 6pm on Sunday 4 March. The Laneway Artspace is open daily from 10am until 6pm.

Our Summer/Autumn 2018 Season continues with our third exhibition – Elina Reddy’s ‘Symphony of Trees’, where you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in Elina’s striking forest of treescapes.

Elina is an award-winning artist, who immigrated to Australia from the Ukraine in the early 1990s. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Melbourne. She was a practicing social worker for many years prior to undertaking her current career as a full-time artist. Elina has recently exhibited in New York and London, and we are delighted to be able to welcome her remarkable paintings to The Laneway Artspace.

In Elina’s words …

‘There is a structure and harmony to nature marching to the endless rhythm of the changing seasons. The trees, like staff lines on a sheet of music form the backbone of the symphony of life, brought to the otherwise inhospitable place that is the Australian bushland. As the trees themselves shelter, nurture and protect they are infused with a chorus of the life that it both attracts and sustains.

This exhibition explores that rhythm of life and is inspired by the fleeting echoes that reverberate across the Australian wilderness. Hidden from the human eye by enormity of our country, yet unmistakably familiar to the ear, captured as a frozen moment in time.’

‘Symphony of Trees’ runs from Friday 16 February to Sunday 4 March, daily from 10am–6pm.
