Jazzy Jeudi December

December 14, 2017 @ 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM

For the very last Jazzy Jeudi concert of the year, the Alliance Française is delighted to welcome back to the stage The New Impromptu Quartet, featuring Paul Coyle on trumpet and flugel horn.

Paul has been involved in the Melbourne music scene playing trumpet for over twenty years. He won the 2015 ‘Best Blues and Roots Album’ ARIA for his composing, arranging and playing on the Melbourne Ska Orchestra album ‘Sierra Kilo Oscar’. Having played with numerous bands both locally and overseas, Paul is a highly experienced and sought-after musician renowned for his creative and dynamic performances.

Exploring a world of styles and influences from jazz to Latin, funk, drum n bass and soul with a fresh and open musical approach, the New Impromptu Quartet comprises pianist Alexander Nettelbeck, bassist Conrad Henderson and drummer Andrew Horneman. The New Impromptu Quartet’s range is diverse: energetic danceable grooves, deep rhythmic bass lines and driving percussion characterise the quartet’s sound.

When: Thursday 14 December, 8pm
Tickets: $20 / AFM members $15. Advanced online bookings recommended as places are limited
