Book Launch: The Greatest Passion of All Jacquie McPhee

December 6, 2017 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

The evening will see us raise a glass to Jacquie McPhee, renowned for her accomplished career in interior design and as an intrepid veteran collector of indigenous art. Jacquie is visiting us in Melbourne to launch her collecting memoir: The Greatest Passion of All , over 300 pages of lavish colour illustrations of her collection of art from across Australia. In her own words she recalls the origins of her passion for collecting and her encounters with the artists she was privileged to meet on the journey. Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase on the night.

This is also a wonderful opportunity to view our current solo exhibition by Teresa Baker, and purchase an imaginative, original, meaningful and environmentally sound gift for loved ones, friends and work colleagues this holiday season. The gallery has restocked the beautiful unique bush dyed silk and merino wool scarves from Marnin Studio, Fitzroy Crossing and Anindilyakwa, Groote Eylandt. For the gold standard in environmentally sound gifts, why not acquire a Christmas wreath fashioned from reclaimed Ghost Nets – the discarded long line fishing nets repurposed by the amazing women of Erub Arts, Darnley Island in the Torres Strait. And for the connoisseur we have beautiful provenanced Riji Jakoli pearl shells from far western Australia.

Or simply join us for Champagne to celebrate with our artists their achievements during 2017 and the extraordinary exhibitions we have presented in our first year at the St Kilda Road gallery.
We look forward to seeing you.

RSVP for catering purposes greatly appreciated by Monday 4 December
